( First off the movie was so amazing that I wound up watching it twice, once with my best friend Ariana, and the second time with my sister Dez and her daughter.)

     Maleficent was such a fantastic movie, it was a pure joy to experience this movie. Miss Angelina Jolie's (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001401/?ref_=nv_sr_1) performance  was mesmerizing from beginning to end. In fact the whole movie was an enthralling experience in general. Honestly this movie is way better than it's counterpart Sleeping Beauty (1959):(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053285/?ref_=nv_sr_3). But that's just my opinion, I don't know about anyone else.

   The entire back story of how Maleficent became "malevolent" made a lot of sense, it was very logical. The writers of this screenplay were dead on with her back story. In the original animated version there wasn't a whole lot of explanation as to why Maleficent was vindictive towards the King but in this movie you understand and feel for her character: the love, the betrayals, the revenge, and the rise back to greatness was just phenomenal. Hopefully the audiences appreciated the writers of this movie and of the book because it had taken quite a long time to figure out why Maleficent was so "Dark" in nature.

   The rest of the cast were superb as well. Elle Fanning's portrayal of Aurora was very sweet and a bit naive, but what teenager of sixteen isn't. Sam Riley who portrays Diaval was a fantastic sidekick to Maleficent's villainess ways for he was the voice of reason for her. Which is what a good friend should always be: LOYAL and OUTSPOKEN.

   If Angelina Jolie is nominated for the 2015 Academy Awards and wins for Best Actress, nobody would be surprised. Her performance was that spectacular. Johnny Depp in fact was nominated for Best Actor in A Leading Role as Captain Jack Sparrow in 2004, although he did not win he was the first ever actor to be nominated for portraying a live action Disney character.

  

     If in fact Angelina does win next year's Best Actress in A Leading Role for her performance as Maleficent it will indeed go down in cinematic history as like the greatest achievement for Disney having such a fine actress as Angelina Jolie winning an oscar for a Disney movie in acting and not just for stuff like : Best Song, Best Animation, Best Picture, etc. There should be one for acting and hopefully Angelina will be the first.

Two words-> PURE EPICNESS, and "epicness" isn't even a word but it should be. Hilarity doesn't even begin to comprehend this movie. Not only was the movie packed with gut-busting laughter, it starred the two hottest actors of this generation:

      But the movie also stars the "Fantastically Funny" Seth Rogen. (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0736622/?ref_=nv_sr_1). Honestly this man is the funniest man for this generation's new type of "Gross-Out-Comedy." Seth's laugh is also very contagious, even Dave Franco's, both of their laughs are equally unique to them.

      Since the start of the movie it had nothing but continuous laughter among the audience. There was great dialogue between the characters, especially the conversation about Seth and Zac's characters' favorite cinematic BATMAN. Seth's being Michael Keaton's Batman from Tim Burton's BATMAN(1989) and Zac's favorite being Christian Bale's Batman from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005-2012). 

      The comedic time among the whole cast was top notch. It was a great movie to begin the summer months that were to come.

In all, the movie was laugh out loud amazing to watch. If anyone were to watch the movie online, since it's not playing it theaters currently than the appropriate thing to say would be to watch it because it is an awesome movie to watch to relieve stress. It also doesn't hurt that Zac Efron is shirtless most of the time through out the entire film:

Movie #18:

THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2

    People are either going to love or hate this movie like comic book purists. The comic book purists will despise this movie. Then again there are some who will love this movie for what it is, a fantastically made action film. With this movie people will complain about how there is too much happening in the movie or not enough and people will also complain about how some villains were not shown as much as the other villains in the movie. 

   Even Marvel mentioned that the movie was all over the place which is admirable because not every business will tell such an honest truth like they did. Marvel promised that the third Amazing Spiderman movie will be even better and will focus even more on the proper story lines and villains and the pace of the movie. Fans follow promises like this, if Marvel doesn't succeed with their promise, the fans will bring their claws and talons out. Fans whether they are movie fans, comic book fans, or music fans they will attack with GUSTO if are lied too. Audiences are smarter than the directors and other such people because the movies are for them to begin with its like a public service.

   Other than that the movie itself was fantastic. Great story, characters, villains, and action. Lots of action which is greatly appreciated. Everyone loves a great action movie. The story of Peter's parents was done in better detail, Richard Parker's back story is now explained. Harry Osborne's character is flawed and charismatic (they all are). Max Dillon or Electro which he calls himself was portrayed brilliantly by Academy Award Winner, Jamie Foxx. 

   Now the two leads, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. Garfield's comedic timing with Peter Parker/Spiderman's dialogue was ingenious, everyone in the theater were laughing their asses off!!! Emma Stone was beautiful as ever and her acting was superb. The two should be in more films together, their on-screen chemistry is "amazing."

P.S: If people have not seen the epic lip-sync battle between Emma Stone and Jimmy Fallon, all of you have been living under a BOULDER being crushed to death. Seriously that shit if fucking hilarious!!! Watch it, if you haven't you can now because my next post is the YouTube video. ENJOY!!! I know I fucking did!!!

THOR 2

Movie #17:
THOR 2 (Wed. Dec.04.2013)

Chris Hemsworth is a God! Just look at that body of his.... DAMN!!! All the co-stars from the film looked amazing. From Natalie Portman to Zachary Levi, everyone did a fantastic job portraying their respective characters. Kat Dennings was amazing like always, she always offers great comedic timing in everything she does, hello have you seen her show 2 Broke Girls!!!

The movie had everything from comedy to tragedy, as it should. The score to the movie was great as well. I can't wait to see The Avengers 2 and Thor 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy. Action movies like this are always great to watch over and over again.

I'm going to be honest though, this movie didn't have the same gravitas as it predecessor THOR and THE AVENGERS. It just didn't have as much chilling and thrilling scenes, what I mean is I didn't experience the "spine tingling" feeling that I am used to getting when watching a great action movie. But hey this is just my opinion of the film.

PRISONERS

Movie #16:
PRISONERS (Sun.Sept.29.2013)

  The movie stars Hugh Jackman (X-Men Series) and the uber hot and talented Jake Gyllenhaal (End of Watch). The movie is about a man, Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman), whose daughter, Anna, has been kidnapped along with her best friend Joy Birch, on Thanksgiving Day. Along with Joy's father, Franklin Birch, Keller had to deal with the police letting the kidnapper, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), go free. Based on a lack of evidence against him. But all was not lost because he was still a valid suspect in the investigation, but that didn't really "sit" well with Mr. Dover.

  And so the movie deals with a very important "What If" issue. As in what would happen when a father like Keller Dover would take the law in to his own hands, instead of the police detective's, Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal). The kidnapping of the little girls takes a toll on everyone, including the detective's. Detective Loki doesn't want the girls to die even more than the parents do and not because of ambition and a perfect "closed cases" record but because he actually cares, he's just not as emotional about it, because he keeps it in. 

  All the performances were outstanding in this film. It was shot wonderfully. There was little to no score in this movie, which was perfect because it was a nicely made independent thriller, it didn't need to have a hyped up score to go along with the movie's theme. The movie itself is very engrossing. Lots of twists and turns along the way which every great thriller should have in store. The movie had a great subject matter to ask: "What would you do?"

This is a spectacular film. Two thumbs up!!!

GROWN UPS 2

Movie #15:
Grown Ups 2 (Sun. July.28.2013)

This movie is far better than the first one though some say it tanked but I don't care what other people say. When it come to sequels the only ones that work are comedy: The Hangover and action: X-Men.

Grown Ups 2 has way more outrageous moments in it than the first one, like the giant moose is the house. At least I think it was a moose it could have been something else entirely. The movie itself is like a big SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE REUNION, LOL!!!
