Hotel Transylvania 3D

  Other than the little children in the theater I was at yelling at the movie and saying, "EWW!" at certain scenes. It was quite an enjoyable experience.

  Adam Sandler's voice was superb (in my opinion) and his usual co-stars were in the movie...except for Rob Schenider and he works with Adam all the time. When I heard the voice of Mavis... I admit I was confused at first. I though Mavis was voiced by Miley cyrus but in fact she was voiced by Selena Gomez which is even cooler and better.

  Adults could definitely watch and enjoy this film as well. I'm eighteen years old and I had a blast watching the movie. Except for the children speaking in the theater during the movie I had a fantastic time at the movies. Hey if I could vacation at Hotel Transylvania I would have a great time...but I wouldn't if that giant spider was there. I hate spiders, I am arachnophobic. 

If this movie were to be rated anything, it would be: 

** 1/2 stars because it was funny but predictable.

         The Odd Life of Timothy Green

   There haven't been many good quality dramatic Disney films in theaters lately. Sure there are the action films like National Treasure and Pirates of the Caribbean, then there are the sports films like Glory Road and Miracle. Remember Mighty Joe Young, that was a great Disney movie, and even the original movies of the DIsney channel were amazing in the 1990's, but then shows like Hannah Montana came out and ruined all hope for Disney films. Then this movie came out and at last there was still hope for the future of great dramatic Disney movies.

   Now, the little boy in the film, C.J Adams, who portrays  Timothy Green was so cute and he had a wonderful screen presence. Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton were great as the newfound parents of Timothy Green, the boy that they dreamt of and had come to life having all the personalities that the parents wanted. The acting by everyone in this movie is superb, and the dialogue between all the characters were flawless.

   If anyone wants to see a heartfelt movie about the joys and wonders of parenthood and the process of adoption, then this is the movie to see with the whole family. The film has great life lessons to teach children and adults alike. The film will make you laugh and make you cry. This is a real heartfelt Disney movie.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (2012)

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

 What else can I say about this movie that has already been said by other movie critics. Well this is what I'll tell you, people of the internet.... this movie for lack of a better word is SPECTACULAR. In every way imaginable.

  This movie did not miss a single beat. The story was extravagant, there were no missing plot points, the characters evolved and the new characters were well rounded, yes even the evil ones. Bruce Wayne is 42 years old in the movie since it takes place 8 years into the future where the last filmed left off, making it the year of 2016. Let me tell you Bruce has to face even more emotional/personal issues throughout the movie. (Oh yeah by the way in actuality, Christian Bale is only 38 years old, just so all of you know)

  Alfred is still Bruce's living conscience and it looks like Alfred does not age a single day... oh the power of HOLLYWOOD's makeup department. Lucius Fox has made bigger and modified gadgets for Bruce to use while being Batman. Commissioner Gordon became a highly decorated police officer, but still feels guilty that he had lied to the city of Gotham about what happened the night Harvey Dent was killed and was forced by Batman to make him the new villain of the city.

  In the movie there is a whole heap on new likable characters and then there are the ones that are not so likable. Joseph Gordon-Levitt portrays police officer John Blake, a young man on the verge of finding his real potential and his true self while also becoming a new confidant of Bruce Wayne. Then we have the ever so lovely Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle in a "purrfect" portrayal as Catwoman. Anne's performance is magnificent and holds her own against Christian Bale. And, you know what I don't care what anybody else cays about her performance of Catwoman, I thought it was bad ass and amazing, she did a great job.

  Now we have Tom Hardy as the character of Bane. Damn I have to give a major salute to Tom for gaining 30 pounds for the role of Bane. Now Bane is what I would like to call " A villain you just love to hate!" Bane was diabolical and pure evil in the Batman franchise. Bane and Heath Ledger's the Joker have got to be the greatest on screen villains ever.

  Now to the technical aspects of the movie. The special effects of the movie are outstanding, there is not much CGI in the movie and as all of you Christopher Nolan fans may know, is that he like to keep aspects of the movie as real and as authentic as possible. The stunts of the movie are even better then the stunts portrayed in The Dark Knight , no doubt about it, the stunts were more gritty and eye-popping.

  I'm not going to lie, I really love this movie. It is, in my opinion the must see movie of the summer. I give this movie a four star rating.

MAGIC MIKE


Wow, while this movie had no great cinematic achievement, it sure was a fun ride and a hell of a good time. Let me tell ya Magic Mike will be the closest thing to going to a male stripper club because I am only 17, until July 24th when i turn 18.


The movie's acting was not that great, Cody Horn had only two facial expressions to give out: happy and stoic. Matthew McConaughey was great but a little too old in my opinion and too skinny, it looked like his ribs were popping out, my friend said he looked "pregnant." To me he looked anorexic, but hey that's just my opinion and if I offended any McConaughey fans then I am truly sorry.


There were great aspects to the movie, like the STRIPPING!!!
Oh me and my friend who shall remain nameless loved it when they stripped as the soldiers, police officers, and firemen. My personal favorite was the soldiers and the one where Matt Bomer as Ken was stripping to a woman as the "Ken doll" LMFAO. Fucking LOVED THAT PART!!!


Channing Tatum and Matt Bomer were the best dancers in the entire movie. Channing who is a hip hop dancer by trade and a former male stripper himself. Matt Bomer was in Broadway productions a lot during his school years before he became a professional actor.


So for all those women who want to have a great time watching actors perform as male strippers, then this is definitely the movie for you... plus you don't have to throw money at a stage all though you might feel like you'd want to, hey I wanted to throw money at the screen, but I didn't have any with me.

This movie is for women and gay men and bi-sexual people!!! Straight Men would just feel awkward watching this with their girlfriends so ladies don't drag the boyfriends with you to see Magic Mike they will get jealous, unless they are actually male strippers themselves and want to comment on the movie.


P.S- Catch Matt Bomer next week on Tuesday July 10, 2012 to see him as the suave art thief Neal Caffrey who work for the FBI to catch other criminals in the show WHITE COLLAR, which is airing its fourth season premier on the USA NETWORK.


If you want to watch seasons one and two it is on Netflix except for season 3 because it is not on Netflix just yet, but it is on USA on demand for a limited amount of time because as I wrote down previously, the fourth season is airing on Tuesday.

TED!!!


What can I possibly say about this movie? This movie is off the charts hilarious. There was one epic moment right after another. Seth MacFarlane is a comedic genius and a fantastic voice actor and there were plenty of inside jokes about Family Guy as well, and there were many familiar faces and voices that were from the TV show as well:
     Mila Kunis (Lori Collins) voiced Meg Griffith
     Seth MacFarlane (Ted/Writer/Director) voiced Peter Griffith, Stewie Griffith, and Quagmire
     Alex Borstein (John Bennet's mother) voiced Lois Griffith
     Mike Henry (Southern Newscaster) voiced Cleveland
     Patrick Warburton (Guy) voiced Joe Swanson


This movie had all the right components to it. It had laugh out loud, gut punching gags that'll definitely make your face turn red. It will make your stomach hurt and make yourself pee because of all the laughing, it is that funny. Hope this was a great message about the movie.

Movie #7: SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN


   What can I say about this movie? Well, I'll tell you, this movie is truly magical. This version of Snow White has a different twist to it and its awesome and way more realistic. In this version Snow White actually fights for her own survival (with the help of the Huntsman of course), unlike the cartoon Disney version of the 1930's where Snow White was just another "damsel in distress."
   Kristen Stewart did a fantastic portrayal of Snow White, she is a good actress (when she's not doing the Twilight series). Charlize Theron, the beautiful Charlize Theron was magnificent as Ravenna, the Evil Queen. Very, Very SEXY!!! Oh, I just love that woman, she can play any kind of role, after all she did win an academy award for her portrayal as an ugly serial killing prostitute in Florida back in 2004. How many woman or men  who are very, very hot, can actually pull off being ugly in a movie and winning an academy award for it, or any award. Just Two and they are: CHARLIZE THERON and JOHNNY DEPP!!!
   Oh, if I were to watch this movie again, I'd be so happy. I guess I have to wait for it to come out on DVD, I hope there are bloopers for the movie. I bet they'd be hilarious.


*BOX OFFICE SCORING- Snow White and The Huntsman hit a bullseye making $56.3 Million over the weekend. Which is amazing.

DARK SHADOWS!!!!

Movie#6: DARK SHADOWS (2012)
   The movie was a treat to watch. It had action and great laughs. The movie was kind of "soapy" as in melodramatic like the original television series was, but I guess that how Director Tim Burton wanted the film to be. As always, Johnny Depp gave us a colorful performance, he is a character actor after all. The rest of the cast was sublime and there were no mistakes. Newcomer, Bella Heathcoate gave a bravura performance as Josette Dupris/Victoria Winters. Johnny Lee Miller gave a equally creepy performance as the conniving thief of the family as  Roger Collins whom also neglected his son David. Ms. Michelle Pfeiffer was elegant as the matriarch of the family, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard. Finally, there was Chloe Grace Moretz as Carolyn Stoddard who gave a realistic portrayal of how teenagers acted in the 1970's, being moody and bitchy.
   The score and the 70's music by Danny Elfman was great also. Everyone would enjoy bobbing their heads along with the music. There was even an awesome cameo performance by Alice Cooper, who is actually Johnny Depp's best friend in real life. The scenery was fantastic, the Collins manor looked like a great home to live in with all the hidden passageways and all. The architecture in the house was majestic in nature. Johnny Depp described the house better than I did . 


If I were to rate this movie I'd give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up and a rating of three stars.

THE AVENGERS(2012)

Movie #5:

The Avengers (2012)

Even though I stood in line for an hour to get in to see this movie, it did not distract me from enjoying the film. my family and I had originally wanted to see it at 7:00PM but the tickets were sold out, so I had to wait in line for the 8:15PM showing...... IT WAS WORTH IT!!! IT WAS WORTH MY FEET HURTING LIKE HELL!!!

There were so many great aspects about that film. The acting was superb and there was non-stop action from beginning to end. I highly recommend watching The Avengers. Not only was it action-packed and intense, it also had humor and the most hilarious scenes you will ever see in a Marvel action movie. When the funny scenes showed up the whole theater would laugh their hearts out. I sure can't wait to see the movie on DVD so I can enjoy it again as much as I did the first time around. Goodbye. Movie Review #4:

Titanic Real D 3D (limited engagement 4/4/2012-4/6/2012)

       I was born in 1994, this movie originally came out in 1997 and I was only 3 years old at the time, so I couldn't watch it in theaters, but I'm sure the rest of my family did. I've seen this movie about, may be, three times in my life (counting today it marks my 4th time) because as many of you know this movie played on cable and also the fact that my mother has this on DVD, and lets face it what grown woman does not have this movie, oh yeah Amish Women but forget about them  they are missing pure greatness that is technology. 

     But today I can finally say that I watched Titanic at the movies and it was even more magical and spectacular because it was shot in REAL D 3D, and all the action shots were simply amazing. The beginning of the movie was twice as eerie and scary because the camera was going so deep into the ocean and you can see the tiniest bits of the ocean's particles flying at you whilst looking at the GHOSTLY SHIP that is TITANIC!!!

     No matter how many times I watch this film it always makes me cry when Jack (Leonardo Di Caprio) dies at the end of the movie. Leonardo always dies in movies, I guess that's what makes him so amazing, he has a great talent for death scenes, I mean, "Hello people have you seen Romeo + Juliet!!!" Kate Winslet who played Rose was just magnificent as she always is in her films. 

     My other favorite part of the film was its theme. "MY HEART WILL GO ON!" Brilliantly sung by the beautiful Celine Dion. It is the greatest love song of all time and the most epic. After all the song did win an Academy Award. Speaking of Academy Awards, in 1998, Titanic won a total of 11 Oscars, including BEST PICTURE.

This is an outstanding film. It is fast paced and the locations and special effects are amazing to say the least. The Hunger Games has drama, it is chilling, and most of all, it's a really great thriller. The film is about a 16 year old girl named Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), whom on the day of the Reaping, decided  to "Volunteer by Tribute,"  so she can protect her younger sister Primrose Everdeen from joining the Hunger Games because she has no abilities or the skills necessary to keep herself alive while Katniss does because she is a trained game hunter and has great archery skills. 


After that the film gets better from there. There are bad ass characters in the movie and when they die you will cry your hearts out because the Hunger Games is a brutal sporting event with teen killing each other for glory and honor in other words: POPULATION CONTROL!!! If this game actually existed I don't think anybody would want to watch children killing each other off to become a "Victor" of their so called District that they live in.


The Two main characters Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) are the "Star-Crossed Lovers" in the Hunger Games. And man, they do look really cute together, their chemistry on film really shined. All the actors were amazing in their own unique way. If I were rate this movie I would give it 4 stars because it is/was that awesome!!!

21 Jump Street movie 2012

Movie Review #2: 21 Jump Street (2012)

It has been several days since I saw the 21 Jump Street movie. I am a fan of the television series as well, because I have it on DVD. I must say that this movie was actually awesome, it was, I'm telling the truth. It was an amazing comedy, even though the television show itself was quite dramatic but of course the show did have its comedic elements to it. 

This movie had its own spin to the series. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum had great on-screen chemisrty, some might call it a "Bromance" or what have you.  Both of them were equally funny, and it was nice to see Channing in a new element with the comedy aspects of the movie. He did make me laugh so hard. I respect this movie. If I were to rate this movie I would definitely give it 3 stars. After all, it is a action-comedy movie.

P.S: People I have to remain objective with this movie, especially, because I am in love with Johnny Depp and his character of Tom Hanson and for the people who saw this movie and knows what happened to Tom Hanson and Doug Penhall!!! People would not read this blog because I would've given away what had happened. It pissed me off!!! So, kind people who've watched the movie and wants to leave comments, can you all wait for a couple of months to point out what was wrong with the movie, and then I'll give you some feedback okay. This Means War

Going to the movies is not always fun. Sometimes you have to wait on line for a while, and sometimes you get in a big argument on the way over to the movie theaters and arrive 20 minutes late for your movie and you have to choose another one to see. Luckily for me it was a happy accident that I watched the movie "This Means War."

The movie had humor, action, sex, and incredibly handsome men. Chris Pine ( Star Trek 2009) and Tom Hardy ( INCEPTION), both great actors in their own right. So in the movie, the two men fall in love with the same woman. And the lucky woman was Reese Witherspoon because men love fighting over her hence her old movie "How Do You Know." Those two men happen to be best friends and kick ass government agents who work for the CIA. Then the hilarity starts when the two men start foiling each other's shots at who gets to woo Lauren (Witherspoon).

If I were to rate this movie it would get two in a half out of four stars because it was a romantic action comedy but there was more action and comedy then there was romance, mind you when the romance scenes came about they were heart melting but there was not a whole lot of it. I still recommend this movie because it will make you laugh and it will make you root for which ever guy that you like. But only I know who gets the girl in the end and I'm not going to give that important bit of information away. So if you haven't seen the movie go and watch it. For those of you who have seen it like me, do not spoil it for the rest of the people who haven't seen this movie.
